Verano Energy was founded in 2012 to address the need for early stage investment and development of renewable energy projects, particularly in Latin America. Verano’s multidisciplinary team and advisory board have deep experience in all aspects of renewable energy projects from early development, to design, financing, construction, operation, and asset management.

Verano Capital is founded and begins operations

The company completes development of its first projects

2014

The first two projects Sol and Luna, located in Vicuña of 6.6MWP reach COD and are connected to the grid  (Track Record)

2015

First internal construction of a 75 kwp project in Los Andes: Renewable Energy Test Center

2016

Verano Capital partners with FRV and wins the tender in Chile with a 50 MWp project Punta Colorada with a record 24-7 price of 26 USD/MWh

2017

Opens office in Argentina, awarded tender for 118 MWP project in Argentinean state tender

2018

Opens office in Colombia, secures co-development & EPC for 120 MWp solar project

2019

Secures turnkey agreement (Development, EPC, O&M) of 105 MWp portfolio with two US based private equity firms Matrix Renewables Acquires 154 MW Solar PMGD From Verano Capital Under Chile’s PMGD Program

Verano reaches 100 MW in operation and 1,000 MW in development

Secures Financing of first utility scale project, Samantha Solar, 116 MWp in Central Chile

Opens office in Peru and secures local development portfolio of more than 1,000 MW

Closes turnkey agreement with Matrix Renewables for a 154 MWp portfolio, later expanded to over 245 MWp

Chile’s Minister of Energy and the Mayor of the Metropolitan Region Join Verano Capital to inaugurate new PMGD solar project

Secures regional development agreement (Chile, Peru, Colombia, Brazil) of an expandable 800 MWp portfolio with Yinson Renewables

Initiates development partnership in Brazil for an initial portfolio of      >200 MWp

Sells a 154 MWp PMGD portfolio (which became 212 MWp) to Matrix Renewables

Verano entered into a partnership agreement with Yinson renewables to develop a 1.8 GW solar portfolio
